Evidence-based means that the therapeutic approach has been extensively researched and the research demonstrates the approach is effective. What Is a Dialectic Anyway?
A dialectic challenge is two opposing forces that appear on the surface to be mutually exclusive (a.k.a. total opposites). A dialectic is is the synthesis, or combination, of those two seemingly opposite ideas. It’s like when two people see the same event and describe it totally differently. Dialectic synthesis is recognizing both sides of the story are valid and have truth. Through dialogue — within ourselves and with others — we discover there is middle ground where both are true. When we find the middle ground, there is no need to choose one or the other, releasing us from the inner battle or external conflicts. Read more
