Hi there! I’m glad you’re here. I’m Karen, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker who helps people learn to live more meaningful lives. I work with adults and young adults who want to find joy, purpose, and ease in their lives, but struggle to make this a reality. Instead, they find themselves feeling trapped by painful thoughts, emotions, habits, traumatic experiences, or current circumstances—including political and cultural factors that impact mental health.

I combine genuine warmth, empathy, and humor with practical guidance to help clients work through their unique challenges. I have a collaborative, engaged approach and am committed to supporting my clients in meeting their goals. My practice is informed by trauma-informed and cognitive-behavioral principles, and draws from my training in CBT, DBT, RO-DBT, and other behavioral therapies.

In addition to being a therapist, I’m also a proud mom to a dog, a cat, and a few dozen houseplants. I’m originally from California but have lived in the Midwest for the last 10 years. In case you’re wondering, no—I still don’t know how to dress for winter! When I’m not working, you can probably find me watering my plants, relaxing in my backyard, listening to a podcast, watching Netflix, talking to my pets like they’re human, or spending quality time with my friends and family.
